Everyone knows how to pray. We just talk to God. However,everyone does not have the right to petition as a child does. When we approach our Heavenly Father as an obedient, loving child, He cannot resist us. After we are saved, every prayer is a conversation between a child and his loving Father. Whether we are a daughter or a son, God loves his children equally.
